Bearing the name “Forum”, constructive and targeted dialogue will be a crucial component of the project. Three main components of the project are likely to benefit the NGOs involved as well as requiring their active contribution. These are: 1) the organization of national Preparatory Meetings; 2) the participation in the Annual Meetings with the European Commission representatives; and 3) Internet based communication and information sharing.

The Annual Meetings will see the participation of representatives from the selected NGOs, European officials of the interested DGs, and selected speakers to discuss the crucial issues related to EU environmental policies, the accession process and the specific contribution of local NGOs.

Preparatory Meetings will be organised by the selected NGOs and supported by the project in each beneficiary country at the national level. The purpose of the meetings is double. On the one hand, it will offer a national forum for environmental NGOs to discuss EU environmental policies and the status of EU environmental approximation, also contributing to define the agenda for the next Annual Meeting. On the other hand, the preparatory meetings will provide space for dialogue between environmental civil society and local authorities.
